Founded by cellist Truls Mørk in 1991, the festival aims to serve as an oasis for busy musicians where they live together here a whole week in August and form an extended family. One of the event’s highlights is its unique settings- with concerts held at Romano-Gothic cathedral and Monastery Church, the audience will be able to experience the brilliant acoustics and ambiance of a unique musical experience in the famous Petroleum Capital of Norway. Atop the festival’s enthusiasm in promoting young artists, it is also keen on contributing to the growth of new talent through the International Summer Academy master classes. With the renowned clarinettist Martin Fröst joining in as the artistic director since 2009, audience will be refreshed by a brand new selection of programmes.
