Established in the year of 1996, the opera festival is mainly dedicated to promoting young vocal talents atop a refined selection of operatic repertoires for young audience. Besides concerts and master-classes, the festival also features The Klaudia Taev Competition for opera singers and The Opera Production.

Verdi’s rarely performed opera Attila will be presented as the celebration of the festival’s opening, featuring young Belorussian bass Anatoll Siuko- winner of the Klaudia Taev Competition 2009. As the only vocal competition in Estonia, the Klaudia Taev Competition will continue to be the central event of the festival this year. The festival will come to a full end with a gala concert featuring winners of the 2011 vocal competition, accompanied by the Orchestra of Estonian National Opera under Erki Pehk.
