In 2011, the festival opens with Escaich’s Lettres Mêlées with Beethoven’s Trio Opus 1 Nr. 2 presented by Trio Wanderer- Vincent Coq on the piano, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian as violinist and cellist Raphaël Pidoux. Under Marcus R. Bosch’s baton, Beethoven’s opera in 2 acts Fidelio will be presented by soloists Urs Marckus, Johannes von Duisburg and more over the collaboration of Nürnberger Symphoniker and Stuttgarter Choristen. During the gala concert, violinist Guy Braunstein will team up with Sinfonieorchester Aachen to perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.5 in E minor, featuring Marcus Bosch as the conductor. John Davis and Festspielorchester Nürnberger Symphoniker will gather to perform in the closing concert to bring the festival to a heightened closure. Artists such as Jan Garbarek, the Hilliard Ensemble will also be on the podium.
