Sometimes size really doesn’t matter. Starting with only one opera performance, Britten’s Albert Herring in the summer of 2003, the festival has now expanded to offer a collection of eleven shows of promising quality. Opéra de Baugé might be one of the smallest-scaled opera festivals in the world, but the aesthetic quality should certainly not be underestimated.
