The 38th Hong Kong Arts Festival is a premium arts showcase that takes place in the heart of Asia, featuring a vast number of performances in the various genres of music, dance and theatre. The festival aims at enriching the cultural life of people by presenting the highest standard of arts performances, arousing public interest in the arts and encouraging artistic dialogue and cultural exchange. Celebrated international and local artists set to join in include Mark Latimer, Mikhail Rudy, Nina Simone, Li Chuanyun and Café de los Maestros, as well as prominent orchestral groups, including the Philharmonia Orchestra with Christoph von Dohnányi, Mariinsky Orchestra with Valery Gergiev, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. The most recent production of Mariinsky Theatre, The Turn of the Screw with Benjamin Britten’s creative score, will be staged at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre adjacent the brilliant Victoria Harbour. Audiences will be able to enjoy some of the performances at unique venues, such as the 55th floor of the skyscraper International Finance Centre II, or inside the oriental Nan Lian Garden.
