In spite of Aalborg’s rather small size, about 150.000 inhabitants in total, the city hosts the only Opera Festival in Denmark. This year the festival sees its 6th anniversary and the program is more diversified than ever. More than 50 performances, concerts, movies and workshops will take place all over the city with music from several stages. Most of the performances take place indoors, which is the Congress Center, because of the rather low temperatures in Scandinavia, but you will also be able to meet the opera world and its music at cafés and churches!

Scheduled are two great operas: Carmen by Georges Bizet and Idomeneo by Wolfgang A. Mozart, and in addition to this, The Opera Show from London, an extraordinary show, staging highlights like Nessun Dorma, Papagena – Papageno, the Habanera etc. in a dazzling choreography and amazing costumes.
