Founded by Hungarian violinist Tibor Varga in 1967, the competition has been listed as one of the most prominent contests in the world. It aims to discover and support new talented violinists in their future career. Contestants will perform with two renowned piano accompanists, Nigel Clayton and Ulrich Koella, and in the final with the Verbier Festival Orchestra. The opportunity of performing in front of an international public as soloists with the orchestra in a gala concert will be offered to the prize winners.
