Happening in Mozart’s birthplace, the competition has also “given birth” to numerous first class musicians since 1975. In its 10th edition, the competition will focus on repertoires for the piano and violin, which demand extra technical virtuosity. With the orchestral rounds featuring Camerata Salzburg, candidates are to enter a final round with Dennis Russell Davis as the conductor. Jury members this year include Professor Pavel Gililov, Robert Levin, Fou Tsong, Paul Roczek and more. Winners of the first prize will be further awarded with the Madame Fukuda Prize, who will then be invited to make a concert tour in Japan as well as giving a concert in Vienna.
