Website: http://www.bjimc.cn/

Category: String Quartet
Date: September 16 to 26, 2011

Founded in 2006 by Mr. Zhang Young, the competition takes place annually at the Beijing Concert Hall. It is the only multidisciplinary music contest in China, operating on a four-year round basis focusing on one category each year – flute, clarinet, cello and string quartet. It aims at providing an open stage for talented young musicians specialized in different instruments. Participants are required to perform selected classical, contemporary and Chinese works. Experienced artists and educators are invited as jury members, former jurors include Raimund Trenkler and Michael Collins. Winners will be engaged in performance tours around China and in Hong Kong. Recordings are arranged during the contest and published afterwards.
